Hello everyone and welcome to the December edition of the TES Rector´s blog and the final edition for 2021 – how time flies!

December for many people is a time of great festive cheer and we have held several initiatives during these final weeks of the year including the student and staff well being week, the christmas breakfast organiied for our General Services staff, christmas activities for students and of course, the staff Christmas celebration.  As well as that, we hope the whole community will be enjoy Noche de Velitas and Novenas with friends and family.

Amongst the celebrations, it is important to be reflective, one of the iB Learner profiles – being reflective consists of considering the world and our own ideas and experiences, understanding our strengths and weaknesses to support our learning.

This time of year is an excellent opportunity to look back and think what have been our achievements and how have we grown, in both our personal lives and at school, how things have not progressed as you may have planned and what are some plans for the future.

Of course, this does not apply just to ourselves but also to consider our friends, family, local and global community.  Reinforcing our role as global citizens and thinking about the wellbeing of others and our impact and effect on them.

On that note, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, I hope everyone has a well deserved restful, relaxing and enjoyable holiday with family and friends whether it be here in Bogota or anywhere in the world.

Take care, and i look forward to seeing you all in 2021 for all the new opportunities and challenges that lie in store for us all.
