HEAD OF SCHOOL AND RECTOR

Adam Bennett
Head of School and Rector

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Criminology.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Secondary Citizenship.
  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Management

After completing my bachelor’s degree, I decided to become a teacher and trained and taught at a variety of secondary schools in London, England.  My interest and travel experience in Latin America, coupled with career aspirations to learn and teach in this region of the world, led me to take the decision to move to Bogotá, joining The English School in 2013. During this period, I have held several positions including DP Geography and Theory of Knowledge Teacher, MYP Global Humanities Teacher, Global Humanities Department Coordinator, DP Coordinator and currently, Head of School and Rector.

An education at TES offers students the chance to grow and develop their knowledge and understanding of themselves as well as the world around them, both inside and outside the classroom. We are guided by our mission, vision and guiding statements, to provide a supportive, inspiring, and stimulating learning environment, in line with the IB philosophy and attributes, which allows us to maximise our students’ personal and academic potential. This will enable our students to thrive, adapt and respond effectively to the opportunities and challenges that they face now and, in the future, contributing positively to an increasingly interconnected and changing world.

For all members of the TES community, is it important for us to work hard in a respectful and collaborative manner, exploring new possibilities with a sense of curiosity, compassion and courage for ourselves and those around us.
