The Fundación Educativa de Inglaterra (FEI) is a non-profit organisation committed to providing high-quality education in Bogotá, Colombia. Our aim is to maximise the academic and personal potential of each of our students. We run two leading educational institutions:
The English School: A bilingual school offering a holistic education from pre-nursery to Year 11 (ages 4 to 18).
The English Nursery: A nursery school for early childhood (ages 2 and 3).
For over 60 years, we have offered a transformative educational programme, whose value proposition is rooted in a holistic culture of excellence, based on our institutional values: Respect, Integrity and Trust.
We promote intercultural learning through the principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum Programme across primary, lower secondary and upper secondary education, fostering academic, artistic and sporting development; recognising individual strengths and interests; and committed to developing the IB learner profile, so that every student becomes an agent of change for Colombia and the world.
Our top priority is the well-being and care of our students; therefore, the Foundation and school team are prepared to prevent, address and promote child protection through programmes and protocols that guarantee a safe environment for learning.
Governance structure and leadership
Committed to excellence, the Foundation has a structure that adheres to best practices in governance. Under this structure, the General Assembly of active members—comprising parents from The English School and The English Nursery—delegates, in accordance with the Articles of Association, the Foundation’s strategic leadership and policy-making to the Board of Directors, which is composed of external members and members of the parent community. The primary role of the Board of Directors is to support the Head of School and the leadership team in fulfilling the vision, mission and guiding principles, and in implementing the Strategic Plan, to ensure that The English School and The English Nursery deliver on their educational promise.
The Head of School must be a national of one of the Commonwealth countries and is appointed by the Board of Governors to be responsible for the implementation of the strategy and the academic and administrative management of the two educational institutions.
