Careers Guidance

Shaping the Future

Personalised career and university guidance

At The English School, we recognise the vital importance of guiding our students in making informed decisions about their academic and professional futures. Our Career and University Guidance Department is dedicated to providing personalised guidance that explores in depth each student’s interests, skills and values, encouraging them to set realistic goals that will enable them to fulfil their full potential.

Impulsando el futuro

Clear and progressive career guidance

A more confident career choice

Throughout their journey through the International Bacalaureate (IB) programmes, our students are constantly encouraged to discover their talents and passions, which facilitates clear and progressive career guidance. In Grade 9, the use of aptitude tests provides valuable insight into their career profile, enabling them to make an informed choice regarding the route to complete their higher education: the Diploma Programme (DP) or the Career-related Programme (CP), depending on the level of academic rigour and career prospects the student wishes to explore.

They are also given guidance on choosing the subjects they will study, which will allow them to gain a more hands-on experience of what their chosen undergraduate programme would be like.

In Grade 10, students explore the various academic programmes and university options available in greater depth. This process culminates in Grade 11, where our students receive comprehensive guidance and ongoing support to successfully navigate the demanding admissions processes at Colombian and international universities.
