STEAM

Fostering innovation and critical thinking for the 21st century

At The English School, we enthusiastically embrace the STEAM educational approach, a powerful integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. We recognise that these disciplines are fundamental to the development of society today and in the future. That is why our STEAM approach offers our students an engaging and enjoyable way to learn, whilst cultivating essential critical thinking skills.

experiencias STEAM

Through immersive STEAM experiences, we promote:

Autonomy: Encouraging independence in learning and task completion.

Creativity: Stimulating the production of original ideas and innovative solutions.

Innovation: Inspiring the adoption of new approaches and the search for disruptive solutions.

Critical thinking: Developing the ability to analyse information, evaluate evidence and form sound judgements.

Problem-solving skills: Equipping students to tackle complex challenges effectively.

At The English School, interdisciplinary learning lies at the heart of our STEAM experiences. Through hands-on, project-based activities—integrated into the inquiry units of our IB programme and enriched by educational outings—students experience the real connection between these disciplines.

STEAM Camp at NASA

An inspiring journey into science and technology

In February 2025, we launched the STEM Camp, featuring a visit to NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre, where our students learn how robotics is applied in space exploration, aerospace engineering, physics and even space agriculture. They also get to experience microgravity simulations, exploration vehicles, space mission crew activities and aircraft maintenance work.

Día de la matemática

Mathematics Day

Unleashing creativity and logical thinking

On this day, we set ourselves a creative goal in which we use artistic and creative skills to take maths out of the textbooks and into the real world. For example, our students make mathematical shapes (geometric figures, sequences, symmetrical shapes, etc.) using everyday objects such as kitchen utensils, cutlery, sheets of paper, buttons, etc.

Experiments Club

Exploring science with fun and wonder

Our Experiments Club is a dynamic and fun environment designed to encourage scientific exploration and the development of essential skills in children through experimentation. By taking part in this enriching programme, students not only acquire fundamental knowledge in natural sciences, physics and chemistry, but also enjoy the exciting process of discovering, creating and being amazed by each experiment.

By applying the scientific method, children learn to ask relevant questions, make detailed observations, conduct controlled experiments, analyse meaningful data and draw logical conclusions. This approach enhances their critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a stimulating and engaging way, whilst they enjoy themselves and learn in a fun way within a school environment that values curiosity and discovery.
